About Me

Name:  Rose Davila-Gay (you can just call me Mrs. Davila)

Biography: I am originally from Long Island, New York.  I received my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University.  I worked as an Electrical Engineer for 8 years before moving to Des Moines, Iowa in 2003.  Once we moved, I had the great pleasure of becoming a stay-at-home mom for 8 years and raising my 3 children.  When my youngest started preschool, I went back to school to earn my Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Drake University, with endorsements in Chemistry and Physics.  I have been teaching Chemistry and Physics at Ankeny High School since 2014, and started teaching the PLTW course Introduction to Engineering in 2021.
