Interventionist Heather Laake

Hello! My name is Heather Laake.  I love teaching and facilitating student growth!

Course:  8th and 9th grade Core Plus More Reading (reading intervention and support)

Background:

• I have a B.A. degree in English (teaching) and M.A. degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University of Northern Iowa.
• I have a Reading Endorsement from Drake University.
• I began my teaching career at Northview Middle School in 2002.
• Throughout my teaching career at Northview, I have taught English as a Second Language (ESL), 8th grade Literacy, and Reading (Core Plus More).
• My husband and I have been married since 2004.  We have two children: Margaret and Glenn.
• In my spare time, I enjoy attending my children’s activities, reading, volunteering, and watching football.
