5th Grade Courtney Larson

Hello, my name is Courtney Larson and I have been teaching at Westwood Elementary since 2018. My teaching career started in Newton for two years, and then for one year I taught in an international private school in Medellin, Colombia. I have only taught in 5th grade, and it is my absolute favorite! 5th grade is a very special year filled with memorable events for their last year in elementary.

I graduated from Grinnell High School in 2011 and got my Elementary Education degree as well as a Reading endorsement from Central College in May of 2015. My husband Eric and I met at Central College and we live here in Ankeny. We are expecting a baby girl in November and can’t wait for the newest addition to our family. We also have a cat who is our pride and joy! In our free time, we love to spend time with friends and family, play recreational sports, and curling up with a good book. I love nature, hiking, and traveling to new places.
